1. How do I file an Employee Reimbursement Claim?

An Employee Reimbursement Claim Form (RM-93)needs to be filed within 30 days of the incident. The form may be obtained from the Environmental Safety website or office. The RM-93 should be submitted to the Environmental Safety Office. You must report the incident within 24 hours to District Police

2. How do I dispose of fluorescent light bulbs and/or batteries?

Call the Environmental Safety Office for number and label; then contact the Warehouse, who will store pending pick up by disposal vendor.

3. What should I do when the Fire Department conducts an inspection and finds violations?

Correct the problem as soon as possible. If you need assistance, contact the Environmental Safety Office or Maintenance and Operations.

4. Can I use extension cords as a permanent power source?

No. If you need a permanent power source where you currently have none, contact Maintenance & Operations to run another permanent circuit. Extension cords are for temporary use only.

5. What are the rules about combustibles on classroom walls?

• All combustible materials shall remain below two feet of ceiling level.
• 50 percent of a wall may be decorated with combustible materials. The combustible materials shall be centered within the chosen wall allowing for the remaining 50 percent providing a clearance at both sides of the wall.
• All combustible materials shall be firmly affixed to the wall.
• All combustible materials are to be flat and two dimensional.
• A three foot clearance from all doors and windows shall be maintained.
• No combustible materials are to be placed upon doors and/or windows.
• No combustible materials are allowed on the ceilings.
• No three dimensional decorations are allowed, such as tree trunks, tree limbs, clouds, etc.

6. When are my school emergency plan updates due in the Environmental Safety Office?

The updates are due in the Environmental Safety Office on October 1 of each year.
