The goal of the Student Recovery Specialists is to reduce the school dropout rate. At each high school, 
Specialist work to catch identified at-risk students before they stray too far off the path to graduation.
Specialists maintain a caseload of students, regularly reviewing and monitoring student data such as
grades, attendance and behavior.  Specialist also submit referrals to provide personalized assistance
and support for students who are in need of that little extra nudge. In addition to working with students, the Specialist works with the students’ families and school personnel to provide support and help with
both social and academic needs through community-service agency referrals.

 Specialists are able to provide hope and encouragement to students and their families by showing
them specifically how they can reach their goals even when they have made some mistakes along the way.

 Each Student Recovery Specialist uses their unique expertise and specialty to address the needs of the
