Referral Process

Second through sixth grade students who display on-going social skill deficits through misbehavior may be recommended or assigned to STAR at Anderson Community Day School from their Home school. The Home school must provide behavior instruction and intervention following the Behavior Intervention Problem-Solving Process before a student would be considered.  

Expelled Students

The Youth Services department may place an expelled student at STAR at Anderson Community Day School.

Intake Process

Once a student is eligible for enrollment, the STAR at Anderson Community Day School administrator will meet with the parent/guardian and home school administrator to explain the intake process and provide necessary enrollment paperwork.

An intake meeting is scheduled on STAR at Anderson Community Day School campus:
  •  The  parent/guardian and student must attend
  • The parent/guardian and incoming student have an opportunity to meet the administrator, program specialist, teacher, and counselor
  • Program guidelines will be outlined
